One of the things we hear most often from members of the Artist Ally Circle is that building a creative life in a new city can feel lonely.
You attend events.
You follow each other online.
You hear names.
But sometimes it takes a shared space to truly meet.
That's one of the reasons we're excited to announce our first community exhibition, created in collaboration with Casa dels Romanins.
Not simply as an exhibition, but as an opportunity for members of this community to encounter one another through the work we make, the stories we carry, and the ways we understand home.
A Home Away From Home
Un hogar lejos de casa
Casa dels Romanins and Artist Ally are inviting 6–7 emerging artists to transform individual rooms within a private apartment in Hospitalet for a weekend exhibition before the space undergoes renovation.
The exhibition explores ideas of:
→ Home
→ Belonging
→ Migration
→ Memory
→ Temporary inhabitation
→ Transformation
Artists are encouraged to respond to the apartment itself — its architecture, atmosphere, history, and transitional nature.
There is almost complete freedom in medium and approach.
Whether you work with installation, painting, sculpture, photography, performance, sound, video, gastronomy, design, or something difficult to categorize, we want to see how you imagine and transform the space.
